My approach to therapy is relational in nature. I would describe my therapeutic approach as being eclectic and holistically based. I lean into breath work, mindfulness, and the mind-body connection. I also pull from psychoeducational theories that work to provide an understanding of self and how it’s all connected to your emotional well-being. I aim to provide an authentic, safe place for my clients to process life experiences, explore themselves and find what your authentic self is.
I found my passion for counseling when I minored in Neuroscience at Texas A&M University in Undergraduate school. I loved learning about the neuroplasticity of the brain and found so much hope in this concept of changes that occur in the brain. This was the foundation for my passion for therapy. I loved the science behind it but I wanted to utilize this knowledge in experiential practice. I also enjoy yoga in my free time and find that guided breathwork and meditation has a place for healing. Walking with others in their journey of life is such a privilege to be trusted and joined with, I am honored to join with you on your journey.
I have completed PTSD training, sand tray training and currently am in training for Internal Family Systems and Interpersonal Neuroscience. These trainings guide my practice in working with survivors of trauma. These therapies work well with clients who are trying to understand themselves and produce change in life and find emotional regulation. I provide a mixture of psychoeducation with empathy, warmth, and understanding. I’m here to help link together missing pieces for you to create a life you want. I want to support you in achieving your goals and reaching emotional regulation. Emotional regulation does not mean that you simply don’t experience negative emotions, it's the skills and understanding of self that support you while you allow yourself to feel your emotions without judgment.
I know how vulnerable it feels to be in this space and to look for help. I’m here to walk with you, without judgment, but with a felt sense of safety and understanding. I believe in the power of therapy and the power in being met with acceptance, grace, and presence. If you are hesitant to the therapy process, I want you to know you will meet with someone who is welcoming and friendly, focused on creating an atmosphere for growth and cultivating a better understanding of yourself together. Therapy can feel like a supportive chat from a trusted professional.
In my free time, I like to hang out with my family, go on walks, and practice yoga. I also don’t mind a little tv binge watching every now and then!
