Can I get reimbursed if you are out-of-network?

Yes, in many cases. If we are out-of-network with your insurance, you can see our therapists as a private pay client and we will provide a superbill, an itemized receipt with the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurer needs. You can submit this to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. We recommend calling your insurer to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits before starting.

Do you offer virtual therapy sessions?

Yes, we offer secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy sessions for clients throughout the state of Texas. Virtual sessions use the same evidence-based approaches as in-person sessions and are a convenient option if you have a busy schedule, live outside of Austin, or simply prefer the comfort of your own space. Many of our clients find virtual therapy to be just as effective as meeting in person.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, or no-shows, are subject to a late cancellation fee equal to the full session rate. We understand that life happens, and we will always work with you when unexpected emergencies arise. Consistent attendance is important for your progress, and this policy helps us maintain availability for all of our clients.

Is what I share in therapy confidential?

Absolutely. Confidentiality is one of the cornerstones of the therapeutic relationship. What you share in session stays between you and your therapist. We are bound by state and federal laws, including HIPAA, to protect your privacy. Your therapist will not share your information with anyone without your written consent, except in very limited circumstances required by law.

Are there any limits to confidentiality?

There are a few narrow exceptions required by Texas law. Your therapist is legally required to break confidentiality if there is an imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, if there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or dependent adult, or if a court issues a valid subpoena for your records. Your therapist will explain these limits in detail during your first session, and you are always welcome to ask questions about how your privacy is protected.
