Terms of Service
Last updated: January 1, 2025
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the Restored Family Counseling website (restoredfamily.com) and engaging our therapy services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our website or services.
These terms apply to all visitors, users, clients, and others who access or use our website and services. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our website or services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Services
Restored Family Counseling provides professional therapy and counseling services, including individual therapy, couples counseling, family therapy, teen therapy, and related mental health services. Our services are provided by licensed and associate-licensed therapists under appropriate clinical supervision in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas.
The information provided on our website is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Our website content should not be used as a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
The therapeutic relationship is established only through a formal intake process and signed informed consent documentation. Browsing our website or submitting a contact form does not create a therapist-client relationship.
Telehealth Consent
We offer telehealth (virtual therapy) services to clients located within the State of Texas using secure, HIPAA-compliant video platforms. By participating in telehealth sessions, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Telehealth involves the use of electronic communications to provide therapy services at a distance. It is not the same as in-person therapy, and there are inherent limitations, including potential technology failures and the inability to observe certain non-verbal cues.
- You agree to participate from a private, secure location where your conversation cannot be overheard, and where you feel safe to engage in therapeutic work.
- While we use encrypted, HIPAA-compliant platforms, no electronic method of communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
- You must be physically located in the State of Texas at the time of your session, as our therapists are licensed to practice in Texas.
- You consent to provide your physical location at the start of each session for safety purposes.
Payment Terms
Payment for services is due at the time of your session unless other arrangements have been made. We accept major credit and debit cards as well as select insurance plans. For clients using insurance, you are responsible for any copays, coinsurance, or deductible amounts as determined by your insurance plan.
Our session rates range from $120 to $180 per session depending on the therapist and their level of licensure. You will be informed of your rate before your first session. Rates are subject to change with advance written notice.
By providing a payment method, you authorize Restored Family Counseling to charge applicable fees for services rendered, including any late cancellation or no-show fees as outlined in our cancellation policy below.
Cancellation Policy
24-Hour Cancellation Notice Required
We require at least 24 hours advance notice for all cancellations and rescheduling requests. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, as well as missed sessions (no-shows), are subject to a late cancellation fee equal to the full session rate.
We understand that unexpected circumstances arise. If you need to cancel due to a genuine emergency, please contact your therapist as soon as possible and we will work with you on a case-by-case basis.
Consistent attendance is an important part of the therapeutic process, both for your own progress and to ensure that appointment times remain available for all clients. This policy helps us maintain availability and provide the best possible care to everyone we serve.
Limitation of Liability
Restored Family Counseling and its therapists provide professional therapy services with the intent to support your mental health and well-being. However, therapy outcomes vary from person to person, and we cannot guarantee specific results. By engaging our services, you acknowledge that:
- Therapy may involve discussing difficult topics that can temporarily increase emotional distress. This is a normal part of the therapeutic process.
- Our therapists are not medical doctors and do not prescribe medication. If medication may be beneficial, your therapist may recommend a referral to a qualified prescriber.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, Restored Family Counseling, its owners, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or services.
Intellectual Property
All content on the Restored Family Counseling website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Restored Family Counseling or its content suppliers and is protected by United States copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on this website without our prior written consent.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or our services shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Travis County, Texas.
Our therapists are licensed to practice in the State of Texas and provide services in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors and all applicable state and federal laws.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the original intent.
